I think it was super ultra famous screenwriter Sean Keller that first turned me onto Algernon Blackwood.  The idea being that he was sort of overshadowed by Lovecraft but had plenty to offer the horror world with his great horror treasure trove.  The story I’m posting today is a great take on the haunted house story and how your belief structure can have a lasting impression with The Damned.  After you read this story feel free to check through his other short stories as there are plenty to choose from.  He’ll be making an appearance again later this month.  And if you haven’t yet head on over to the Talk Without Rhythm Podcast to check out what El Goro has been doing with his 31 Days of Halloween reviews.  The review for today is The Mummy’s Curse.  Be sure to head on over there and listen.
