Blu-Ray Extras And Features: Halloween II
Well, what we have here is another release of Halloween II this is the second time since last year that said film has been issued to a Blu-Ray.
The first time around it was the 30th Anniversary Edition, distributed by Universal Studios Home Entertainment with deleted scenes, alternate ending, and a second disc with Terror in the Aisles.
Flash forward a year later Shout! Factory released a Collector’s Edition, that is superior to the 2011 release. Now that we got a bit of history out of the way, let’s have a look at them extras, if you will.
Disc One
If you’re looking for play by play commentary you got that and more with two commentary tracks. The first track is with Director Rick Rosenthal and he’s joined by Leo Rossi who played Budd in the film. Track number two is by Actor-Stunt Coordinator Dick Warlock.
The Night isn’t Over! Is a look back at the making of Halloween II it’s mixed with talking head commentary with spliced in clips. Some of the stories you might have heard from other Halloween documentaries. But there is enough new information to keep you seated. Like, why didn’t anyone tell Rick Rosenthal the ending got changed?
Horror’s Hallowed Grounds… Nope, you want to know about, go watch it.
The Deleted Scenes and Alternate Ending has commentary by Rick Rosenthal. And lastly on this disc you got Trailers, Tv and Radio Spots and a Still Gallery
Disc Two
Not only do you have the theatrical cut on disc one, but disc two has the television cut with added footage.
Overall, out of the two release this is the one to buy. Two cuts of the film and a good amount of extras. It’s worth your time and a few cents from your penny bank. Massive.
