A young eight year old boy is sitting in an empty movie theater watching Night of the Living Dead & from that day on his life would change but not because of the film but seeing his farther clenching his chest from a heart attack & many years later meeting his love of his life Victoria at a bar. All those events changed Carter, an out of work & struggling photojournalist life forever. Flash to present day… Carter & an another gentleman are discussing if the out of work photojournalist wants to have one last big pay day. All Carter has to do is find the location of Michael Myers. And the only way to find him is to follow Dr. Sam Loomis & document his whereabouts.

Overall: The comic is well written & I was left wanting more from the characters I really wanted to know what was going on between Carter & Victoria. The art is very good Michael Myers & Dr. Loomis look great. Also in the comic you’ll see a story line between Loomis & Brackett… It got heated, I’m just saying. The ending I was happy with. If you’re looking your own Halloween: Autopsis mini comic. It came with the Halloween: 25 Years of Terror DVD.

In this comic you are treated to four tails from The Ecto-Zone hosted by Egon Spengler. Each Ghostbuster has their own short story. But I’m gonna spotlight my favorite of the four. The comic starts off with Egon acting in the role of Rod Serling giving a brief description of what you are about to see. The first story is called “Water Lily” : Ray Stantz recalls a story to a friend while walking around at a amusement park about being separated from his farther in a sea of people at an young age at the Toad Island amusement park. While Ray is looking for this farther he wanders into a building with a big aquarium tank where he discovers a beautiful mermaid. She goes on to tell her tail & consoles Ray until his farther found him. Flash back to present day where Ray & his friend make there way to the aquarium but when they gets there it’s up to them to stop three hoodlums from hurting the mermaid he met a long time ago.

The three other stories feature Peter Venkman in “Peter & the Wolf”, Egon Spengler along side Janine Melnitz in “Whom the Troll Tolls” & “Night Off” with Winston Zeddemore & Slimer. The comics art is in the style as The Real Ghostbusters cartoon back in the 80′s but I have noticed in other The Real Ghostbusters comics sometimes the color continuity where on one page a character is wearing a blue jumpsuit & a few pages later it’s different color & the writing is good it captures each Ghostbusters personality just right. It’s like the cartoon but in paper form. I recommend picking up The Real Ghostbusters comic books, you might can find them at your locale shop. One other cool thing about TRGB comics is each comic comes with a poster of the comic cover & some have activity pages & Q&A  with Egon.

In this wacky comic from 2007 The Crypt Keeper, The Old Witch & The Vault Keeper will treat you to three tales of horror. But I’m going to talk about my favorite story in this comic called The Tenant, a rich man named James Winchell who owns apartment building all around town has been getting complaints from his tenants that the building needs maintenance because the Winter season has just rolled in & the building doesn’t have heat to keep people warm. But James has better things to do then get his hands dirty. Later we find out that a old lady died in one of James buildings because the lack of heat & that’s when everything starts going down hill for James Winchell. A trail date has been sat & James was found guilty & his punishment is that James now has to stay in one of his old rundown buildings next to a cemetery. What happens next…? You’ll just have to pick up this comic & find out.

I find this comic really fun to read & having The Crypt Keeper making jokes & one liners all through out the book made me laugh, on the other hand sometimes the other stories don’t hold up as good & the art is hit & miss, more then one artist draws for this comic. Overall I enjoyed reading Tales from the Crypt #2 & it made me want to pick up other comics in this series.

Halloween Night Dance is a four part comic book mini series based upon the horror icon Michael Myers. The story takes place in a small town of Russelville Illinois there you will meet a gal named Lisa who is deathly afraid of the dark. In the story Michael Myers has been putting disturbing images in Lisa’s mail box & it’s making her long forgotten past, come back to haunt her. Lisa doesn’t know why this is happening but you’ll soon find out that Michael Myers sees his sister Judith in Lisa & it’s up to Michael to see that “Judith” Lisa gets a proper burial.

This four part mini series is a very good read for Halloween fans. Michael Myers is portrayed smart & unstoppable until he reaches his goal. The art is really great & the imagery of the deaths are Massive.

Well since we haven’t been able to produce a show for a few weeks now here is an interview we did a few weeks ago that was going to be included in an actual episode.  We talked with Denis Faye about his upcoming comic series HELIX.  It follows a priest that has a legion of demons bound to his soul.  I looks fantastic and I can’t wait to read more.  Listen on for Denis’ insperations, thoughts on horror, and who should play the priest in a movie version.

Creature Feature #1 out in September features the story "Hooters" a tale of owls...no realy

Creature Feature #1 out in September features the story "Hooters" a tale of owls...no really

the Drive in is a staple of American Culture, and this goes hand in hand with the Cheesy b-rate horror movie. In celebration of this, Th3rd World Studios is releasing Creature Feature, a Anthology style comic that will hopefully capture the Grindhouse experience.

the first Issue, out in September, will feature: “Night of the Abductors” by Chris Yost(X-FORCE); a tale of teenagers aliens and horrific beatings, as the title implies “Hooters” by C.B. Cebulski(X-MEN), involves ravenous snow owls… what did you think it was about, “Why Did It Have to be Spiders?” by Andy Schmidt(MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS) is a tale to terrify all you arachnophobics (Bryan I’m looking in your direction),and rounding out the issue is “Rockenstein”by Brian Smith(PICKLES FROM PLUTO) which sounds like a heavy metal version of re-animator.

the second and final issue promises three and a half more tales of terror including: a reimagining of the Blob by Leah Moore (ALBION) and PJ Holden (JUDGE DREAD) titled “Imago”, a warning to us all about the darker side of sledding called “Don’t Eat the Snow” courtesy of Jacob Chabot (SKULLBOY) and buddy-cop story about killer cockroaches straight out of the 1970′s by Stuart Moore (FIRESTORM) and Alberto Ponticelli (BLADE). Grab a bucket of popcorn, large soda and an overpriced Corndog and pick up Creature Feature from Th3rd World Studios this September.
