Just as Splice is hitting DVD & Blu-Ray on October 5th so is Platinum Dunes’ A Nightmare On Elm Street. The only special feature on the DVD will be a “Freddy Reborn featurette” while the Blu-Ray gets the same, along with “Maniacle Movie Mode, an Alternate Opening, an Alternate Ending, a Deleted Scene, and a digital copy of the film.” Check out the DVD & Blu-Ray box art here.

Warner Home Video has announced that Splice will be released October 5th on DVD & Blu-Ray. Special features include an “Director’s Playground: Vicenzo Natali on the Set of Splice” featurette.
As some of you might & or might not know Splice was my favorite film of 2010 & just thinking about the DVD release got me pumped because I was looking forward to all kinds of special features. Commentary, making of & what not. But no! Warner Home Video or who ever gives the green light on what kind of extras to go on a DVD didn’t want to go through the trouble of making Splice (even though it came in 8th at the weekend box office) the best home DVD video release ever. And another thing, DVD & Blu-Ray sales is what these movie studios are banking on if their film didn’t do well in theaters, with that said… Why don’t they make sure to add commentary, making of or interviews to the DVD so they can make a little more on the back end in home video sales. You know what mean. It’s 2010 & even the Blu-Ray has the same special features as the DVD. If Masters of the Universe starring my favorite actor Dolph Lundgren can have a directors commentary, why can’t Splice? Massive.
