So Drunken Zombie is in a few places this week that you should know about. First off Bryan stopped by the Bonebat Show to talk about some comics, games, and movies. Plus it was their second year anniversary. So click the poster below and head over to help them celebrate:
And this one is a little older but I’ve been so busy trying to get our film festival working that I forgot to post about it. Sorry Julie! But us Drunken Zombie guys did some mild voicework for one of Julie’s awesome audio dramas. So to hear ours click on the poster below and then check out our episode.
You’ve heard just about every horror podcast talk about it. This week Patrick left us a voicemail yelling about it. Brother D has challenged him to a rap challenge. Now you because of our friends at Bloody Good Horror you can see it. Check out the rap stylings of Corey Haim:
For our friends in the Minnesota area here is some info on the horror convention Crypticon:
And this is some info from their website:
Another Good News/Bad News situation folks.
Sadly due to other obligations, Tom Savini, PJ Soles, and local favorite actor/write/stunt ass Joe Knetter will not be appearing at Crypticon. This really hurts as I was looking forward to hanging out with them as much as the rest of the fans were, in Hollywood Film/Directing money and opportunity will win out over conventions almost every time. We wish Mr. Savini and Ms. Soles on thier projects and hope to see them in the future here in Minnesota. As for Joe Knetter, I just wonder what the Hotel will do with all the extra Rum they no doubt ordered expecting him to be there. (I kid Joe, good luck on the project)
Ok, few deep breaths, calming, punch a wall (lord knows I did) now lets move on to the good news.
3. New. Guests.
I am super pleased about the 1st, as I am honored to call this man friend as well as telling you he is one of the nicest guys you will EVER meet ANYWHERE.
Ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to announce the return of…
MICHAEL BERRYMAN!!!
Michael was Pluto in the original Hills Have Eyes, was in The Devils Rejects, Wierd Science, and little known fact The Crow (all of his scenes were cut, but available on DVD)
Ok Boils and Ghouls, you know our next guest is a real scream! He’s no Robert Deadford, or Gory Cooper, but help me welcome the voice of the Cryptkeeper:
JOHN KASSIR!!
And last, but not least, a local hometown beauty returns, you know her from Chopping Mall, Night of the Comet and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Minnesota’s very own
Kelly Maroney
I once again wish the best of luck to our 3 departing guests and welcome our 3 new guests! I know this stings just a few weeks away from Crypticon, but we wanted to let the fans know, sadly I’ve heard of other conventions who lose guests, have their fans drive/fly in and tell them as they enter the door, and thats no way to treat your fans! Crypticon will still be a blast!!!
For more info go to WWW.CRYPTICONMINNEAPOLIS.COM.
And our good friend Matt is going to be calling in to leave some messages from Crypticon sort of like how we did Comicon. So be looking for those fun updates here over the weekend. So stop on by and check out the Crypticon. We recommend chatting with Doug Jones as he is one of the nicest people on the planet.

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that HD Films has purchased the rights to CREEPSHOW and will be doing it as an online series. Sigh. I personally love the first film and really like the second film. I refused to watch the third one as neither King nor Romero were involved. Everything I heard about it was that it was pure garbage. So how do I feel about a new online series?
1) Why spend the money to buy the rights to the CREEPSHOW name? It means nothing to anyone but us hardcore horror fans. Teenie Boppers have no clue what CREEPSHOW is. And really if you just make a good horror anthology show and just title it “GENERIC HORROR ANTHOLOGY SHOW” as long as it’s good people will watch. Why spend the money?
2) The only real draw to the first two was that it was that it was Romero directing shorts of King short stories done in an EC Comics style. As seen in the third one if you drop those three elements it loses all it’s charm. So why?
3) Why not get Romero and King involved again? King has written MANY more short stories since the first two that could be ripe for a pickin and really Romero could do something other than the zombie genere after seeing his last two attempts at it.
But it’s going to happen and will probably be pretty awful. I’m sure I’ll be watching with a sadness is in my heart.

Originating during the writers strike Joss Whedon was trying to come up with Internet content and thus Dr. Horrible was born
we realized the best way to make something was going to be to make it ourselves,” Whedon says. “It turns out that this was the thing that if you had asked me, ‘What in the world would you like to do the most?’ I would have said, ‘A musical with a supervillain.’”
Prestnted via streaming video in three acts the event started yeaterday with act two posting on Thursday July 17th, and Act Three on Saturday July 19th . Dr. Horrible will be free through midnight July 20th, when they will switch to a pay-per-download service.
