Well we had every intention of talking about THE HUNGER this week but we got sidetracked watching BLACK DYNOMITE. So you’ll just have to deal with us not really talking about anything. But during the Horror Fix we do talk about the fact that Horror Anthology just isn’t working now a days and discuss why we think that is. Wish we could say that we filled the rest of the episode with your voicemails. But no one called in this week. You should all feel ashamed. Our very first week with voicemails. How dare all of you. Lord Blood-Rah does save us all with his review of MANSTER. If you like us just rambling on for no real reason then this is the episode for you!
We review our time at the Famous Monsters Of Film Land Convention. That is really the majority of the episode. We also chat about the film that I picked up at Famous Monsters PUPPET MASTER: AXIS OF EVIL. Wes skipped out on this episode because he was helping sick children get drunk or some such nonsense. Also we record on my birthday so you can hear our anticipation for ice cream cake following the end of the episode. Probably why our review was so short. That and because the movie sucks. Enjoy!
This week the DZ crew (along with Doiner) chat about some George Romero on the Slugcast! Head on over to the 25th episode of the Slugcast and check it out. In true DZ fashion we don’t talk about Romero until the end of the episode, we go completely off topic when we do, and there is a lot of promos with Patrick and Doiner. It’s almost like a DZ episode just on a different website. So check it out at THE SLUGCAST!
We present you with another Drunken Zombie shot as Randy, Dave, Producer Amanda, friend of the show Nas, and myself discuss the new release of Nimrod Antal’s PREDATORS. Does it deliver? Does it live up the political film that was the original PREDATOR? Does Adrian Brody pull off being a bad ass? Can I ask any more questions? So belly up the bar and have yourself a shot!
Well this episode was supposed to conclude our Mystery Movie May. But in true Drunken Zombie style we had some issues. We’ve been using a stand alone recorder lately. Well I didn’t clear off the old shows so we ran out of room about an hour into our show. Luckily the movie Dave picked sucked so we didn’t talk about it that much. So you’re going to get a lot of tangental stuff we usually talk about. Luckily we were talking about the movie some before the show started so I was able to throw that in the Main topic section. So enjoy that.
Lord Blood Rah’s Bent Frame: The Hunger
Music for this episode: Die Monster Die – LYKA THE RUSSIAN SPACE DOG WILL HAVE HER REVENGE
So we were supposed to close out our Mystery Movie May with Dave’s choice. But Dave wasn’t sure if he was going to make it or not and ended up showing up at the last minute. The rest of us decided to review The Machinist instead. Also we hear from our favorite reptilian but almost forget about it, keep questioning Randy about the cryptic text messages he keeps getting, and about die laughing when the photo for this episode happens right in front of us. Be sure to check out the film festivals we talk about in this episode at Bonehand and the Salty Horror Film Festival. End theme by the Gore Gore Girls by way of Retro Girl!
Well since Vaughn did something naughty to us during our episode here is our episode picture starring him. I’m going to use pics of him for our episodes until his mom calls us. Seriously. So this may be our most tangent ladden episode ever. We are supposed to be talking about the movie Wes picked this week but instead we talk about stuff like animated movies, Star Wars, stuff that Adam West does, and read IMs from Sometimes Co-Host Mike. But the movie was actually good this week. I know Vaughn likes this movie but probably won’t listen since he likes to send us bad things.
Also go read my serial novel 48 PIECES over at my blog Life Of Bryan. And go over and listen to 23 Minutes Of Ska by our friend Bryan J. All this and more. Also we announce a new contest where you have to dress like Crazy Uncle Randy and send us pictures. If you need an example check out the pic below:
Well we’re finally in full force and return to Mystery Movie May. Yeah Yeah we’re getting halfway through June. Big deal. Randy picks the movie this week. Also in this episode Patrick diagnosis us and you our listeners with Tardosis, we go on a tangent about The Muppets, eat some candy, and decide to harass Vaughn from Motion Picture Massacre for no real good reason. As you can see from the picture for this episode it’s okay because he likes it. So sit on back and enjoy the mystery selection. And when you hear the music at the end of this episode just realize that we got you. WE GOT YOU!
Well as Wes predicted we put Mystery Movie May-ish on hold as Dave has driven off to the giant state of Texas. He mumbled something about taking back the border. Who knows. So instead we review the sci fi film CUBE in his honor. It actually turned out to work really well since this week sees the release of the directors newest film SPLICE. It was a complete coincidence. But enjoy us talking about what it’s like being stuck in a 14×14 room. Randy also updates us about his big trip to a hippie fest the weekend before.
Welcome to a new feature called Drunken Zombie Shots. Here we send out our immediate thoughts on new release horror movies. This one was for the new movie SPLICE starring Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley. Myself, Wes, and Producer Amanda give you our thoughts immediately after we walk out of the theater. So have a shot and decide if you should see this one in the theater.
Welcome to Mystery Movie May! Yeah we’re a couple of weeks late but there was moving and whatever. Bryan picks first as the other three are lazy and didn’t come up with movies yet. We pour through our voicemail which has been building up, chat about some TV comings and goings, and talk about movies that should star Betty White.
Instead of concentrating on doing an actual episode of Drunken Zombie I hung out with the guys from The Splattercast and helped maT fend off the love from Jeff, Steve and Deejay for the new Nightmare On Elm Street remake. I had to chime in from my cell phone’s Skype ap so I am on a little bit of a delay. So click on the pic above to check the episode out.
In preperation for the new remake we decide to focus on the original A Nightmare On Elm Street. I don’t think we really bring any new insight into the movie because how can you really? So we just sort of give our fond thoughts on the movie and the series as a whole. The big bonus for this episode is that we have an interview with one of the stars of the original movie, the legendary JOHN SAXON! Bryan also discusses some of the deleted scenes cut out of the original movie but edited back into a fan edit that he got from Brother D back at HHW. So enjoy and check out some of Bryan’s personal Nightmare related photos below.
We review the film GIRL NUMBER 3 which we picked up at Horrorhound Weekend. Get ready for some Old Man Gibbons. We talk about some more fun HHW memories not captured in episode 100, talk about the Drunken zombie film festival 2010, and read some more bad reviews from iTunes. You know it’s a good time. And we try to record using our new mic but Dave’s laptop causes some random hissing for some reason. but i may have finally found a recorder that will let us record on my laptop so hopefully it will be fixed.
