Ashton smith stated on LaFontaine’s site:

When you die, the voice you hear in heaven isn’t Don’s. It’s God trying to sound like Don.

Don is survived by his wife Nita Whitaker, and three children: Christine, Skye and Elyse.

This year so far we’ve lost a ton of tv and film stars and im sad to say that yet another one has pasted on.
Estelle Getty best know for her role in The Golden Girls as Sophia Petrillo. The wise-cracking mother of Dorothy Zbornak played by Beatrice Arthur who in a little bit if trivia Getty was younger then Arthur. Has pasted away this morning.

Getty was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia in 2000. This would be what would cause her to retire from acting and also cause her death. Getty was never in any horror movies but i’ve been such a big fan of the golden girls i think she needs to get some credit for what she did in her career. I use a sound bite of her to end my show every week thats how much i loved that character Estelle Getty did for 173 episodes. She will be missed by tons of collages kids who get baked at two in the morning and watch some lifetime as well as myself and my friends. Rest in Peace Sophia.

What’s Better then a tragic tale of a sympathetic Super-Villian, a Musical tale of a tragic supervillian written by Joss Whedon starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion!

Originating during the writers strike Joss Whedon was trying to come up with Internet content and thus Dr. Horrible was born

we realized the best way to make something was going to be to make it ourselves,” Whedon says. “It turns out that this was the thing that if you had asked me, ‘What in the world would you like to do the most?’ I would have said, ‘A musical with a supervillain.’”

Prestnted via streaming video in three acts the event started yeaterday with act two posting on Thursday July 17th, and Act Three on Saturday July 19th . Dr. Horrible will be free through midnight July 20th, when they will switch to a pay-per-download service. In the near future fans can expect to see it on DVD, chocked full of Extras (including a rumored Musical commentary) Those of you lucky enough to be attending Comicon have the oportunity to see the in its entirety during the Dr. Horrible panel, with the film’s cast in attendance.

If successful a sequel will be considered; Dr. Horrible’s nemesis, Captain Hammer (Nathin Fillion’s Character), can be found in comic form at the Dark Horse Presents MySpace Page , written by Zack Whedon.

Reality television is everywhere, so why shouldn’t it infect the horror genre? VH1, producers of such quality shows as flavor of love and best week ever, bring you the next big reality show, Scream Queens.

Officially green lit last month, along with Lionsgate entertainment VH1 will be gathering 10 actresses to compete for a role in an upcoming movie. contestants will compete in a series of “zanny” challenges, be trained by acting coach John Homa and finely judged by a Lionsgate director who has yet to be named

though the first open casting call has passed (it was in Hollywood on June 21st) but if they don’t find enough bat-shit crazy, I mean qualified actresses then more open casting dated will be made. but that shouldn’t stop you from entering because VH1 is also accepting tape submissions (details here). once you have taped your submission you should also send a copy to drunken zombie; while it won’t help you with the reality show we might feature it in an upcoming video-cast. (submissions of Crazy Uncle Randy in a wig will not be accepted)

The series, consisting of eight hour long episodes, is set to premiere in the fall.

The fact that the zombie genre is a dead idea and any try to bring it back in this day and ago is mostly piss-poor. Yet you get a couple of good ones like shaun of the dead, undead, 28 days later and so but the movie i’m going to talk about should be yet another body for the pile.

The film i speak of is Evil Keg Written and directed by Allen Wilbanks. You may remember him from such classics like Motor Home Massacre. A film where a bunch of horny teens get killed by a psychopath while they drive an Rv. if you notice that film seems a little mediocre. Well so does his follow up.

The plot for evil keg is simple. Marcus Colby is your everyday beer brewing hipster who runs the col-brew brewing company. While having one of his more uglier scientist and the they pull this off is lets put her in lab coat and put her hair in front of her face is trying to make a zero-calorie beer. Good-old marcus figures out a way to make it without all the science that the ugly scientist was doing to the beer. But this ugly scientist is none other then an Evil Beer Mistress and im not messing around that is the characters name for fuck sakes. Well, the evil beer mistress has made a beer that makes anyone who drinks it into a gut muchers. yep thats right kids they drink the skunk brew and turn in to zombies and thats the plot in a nutshell. The reason i dont give you the rest of the story is that its like any other zombie story. Zombie are eatting the fuck out of anyone who gets in there way and marcus and a bunch of other people have to try to find out a way to save the day and not get killed before morning.

I have to give it to the actors for trying not to laugh during this shot and what was up with the shaky camera stuff when the people were turning into zombies and when the zombies were attacking? I have to say that the effect were good for a film that had no money for effects. When there was gore it was cranberry sauces with a little more red food coloring and chunks of styrofoam in it. Most of the zombies were just painted faced ghouls and i like when thats used low budgets films but when you have shaky camera work cause your not sure of your effects guy that really sucks. The introduction of characters is lame. Like when marcus father is introduced we get a scene were him and his arm-candy girlfriend are fighting about that the arm-candy girlfirend wants a pony. it makes no cents to the plot of the story it just space to fill to make the movie about 90 min. The characters are just stereotypes as well. For instince the angry black guys who hits his girlfriend. The girlfriend who is just the damsel for marcus to save. The hipster son who doesn’t know what to do with his life yet he runs a Brewerie. The horny farther who give his son the Brewerie to run into the ground.

Rounding up this dont give Allen Wilbanks your money even though i think you can not get this off there website anymore. but if you want to see a great trailer to a dumb movie check out www.evilkeg.com

Score: 1.5/5

QUICK THOUGHTS:

  • Story is lame and hamfisted
  • The effects look great for low-budget
  • Effects were fun its just dont use shaky cam

The Hollywood Reporting has an article up now talking about how “New Amsterdam Entertainment has tapped 3-D company In-Three, which will use its proprietary “dimensionalization” process to turn the 1978 indie horror flick movie, Dawn of the Dead, into 3-D.”

For more checking out the article (though the rest is mostly dry numbers) or head over to the forum and tell us what you think about this new development.

M. Night Shyamalan certainly burned a lot of bridges with his last movie, Lady In The Water.  A lot of his fans are hoping that his next film The Happening will be a return to form for him.  However, every indication seems to be that it is not.  Now, the first extended clip for the movie has hit the web and it’s not encouraging.  The fact that nearly half of it is Shyamalan introducing the film and telling why it’ll be awesome is an early warning sign that it won’t be awesome.

Don’t take my word for it though.  Have a look for yourself and then pop over to the forum and share your thoughts.
